Calendar/Format

The format for the 2012 Winter-Spring season is as follows…

  • NBA on-court experience (info is still on our old site, sorry)
  • 6 regular season games
  • All teams make playoffs
  • All teams get double-elim status for playoffs
  • Which means all teams get a minimum of 8 games played
  • For a reminder of how this stacks up against other leagues, please go back to the Leagues page.

Dream League’s double-elimination playoff format also sets it apart from all other leagues, as the playoffs are a true test of survival and some teams ending up with 13-14 games played.

With that, below is the calendar for 2012 Winter-Spring. Note that it is a worst-case calendar. By 1/29 where it says Game #3, there could be plenty of you already on Game #4. Don’t worry, by Game #6, the week before playoffs start, everyone will be at 6 regular season games played prior to the start of playoffs.

WE MUST REMIND YOU AGAIN: DO NOT TAKE ANY VACATION THROUGH TO THE END OF APRIL. Yes, end of April.

Why? Because ish happens sometimes and causes delays to the schedule. This pertains especially to late playoff and championship games — and we don’t like to do this — but if we sense your team is “high maintenance” or acting “me-me-me”, we reserve the right to forfeit your team at any point in the following calendar, if it becomes increasingly difficult to schedule you in because your guys are away on our non-bye dates…
